Conservation Priorities:

Support for Audubon Alaska's science-based conservation work to protect birds, other wildlife, and their habitats across the diverse and rich ecosystems of Alaska is important for our mission.

Secure permanent protection for priority areas across the Arctic, including the coastal plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and key sites within the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska in the Western Arctic;

Secure permanent protection for watersheds with high ecological and community values distributed across the Tongass National Forest;

Monitor threats to and defend significant bird populations and their habitats, emphasizing Alaska WatchList species and Important Bird Areas (IBAs);

Monitor threats to and defend important wildlife populations and habitats, especially in the National Wildlife Refuge system;

Highlight and address the effects of global climate disruption, and support efforts to identify and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases in Alaska; and…

Seek protection of internationally-significant wildlife resources and their habitats in Alaska's Arctic marine environment, emphasizing the Bering, Beaufort, and Chukchi seas.
